They basically travel together due to necessity, but in general hate each others guts. They fight a lot, training turns to moments like this...but they still watch each others backs. Somethin like that

I will admit it is very great to look at. However the man's legs seem unnatural. Your use of color was well done. The person the left is a very nice focal point. everything seems to be centered around her. The picture is dynamic i will give it that but i feel like you could have given the girl more motion. I love the intensity and i could really picture the event happening in my head. I tried to picture the guy getting thrown and he is swirling out. Overall i really love this image and i hope to see more.

Gorgeous. True to the spirit of the original, but with a unique style. I love the counterpoint between the sharp rocks and the flames. They seem to be born of the same spirit, implying these two really do belong together, and frame the duel quite nicely. The extreme perspective on the legs of the firebender is a bit much for me - the foreground leg looks disproportionately long - but it's only a minor point and may actually enhance the sense of power. The Earthbender seems a bit off balance because of the tilt - like she's in a slide - but maybe that was intentional. It hardly takes away anything, but that's what it seems to me. I gave you two stars for originality because it's obviously not an original concept, but I think you have a very good take on it.
